Becoming a Parish Councillor

Wythall Parish Council is made up of three wards:

Drakes Cross and Walkers Heath (six Councillors)

Hollywood and Majors Green (six Councillors)

South Wythall (three Councillors)

It is possible to stand for election as a member of a national political party. Wythall also has a local independent party `Wythall Residents Association'. Candidates must be eighteen years of age or older and must either be on the electoral register or must have worked in the area for the preceding twelve months.

Every elected Councillor must sign the Code of Conduct for Parish Councillors.

All Parish Councillors attend the monthly Full Council meetings.  Each member is also invited to be a member of any or all of the committees they have a particular interest in.

If you are interested in becoming a Parish Councillor and having a real input into your local community you can either contact the Clerk via the Parish Office or come along to one of our meetings and talk to us about the role.
