RARE TREES IN THE PARISH

Native Black Poplar/ Populus nigra betulifolia

Dawn Redwood/Metasequioa glyptostroboides 

Walnut/Juglans regia

Scots Pine/Pinus sylvestris

Yew/Taxus baccata(English)

Yew/Taxus baccata fastigiata(Irish)

Oak Red/Quercus rubra

Oak Scarlet/Quercus coccinea

Oak Holm/Quercus ilex(evergreen)

Wild Pear/Purus pyraster

Wild Service Tree/Sorbus torminalis

Mulberry Black/Morus nigra

Wythall also has a Millennium Yew which was presented in September 1999 by the Bishop of Birmingham.  This is a cutting from a 4000 year old tree, the Crowhurst Yew, in Surrey.
